Paris Bordone

Published on February 9, 2022

This exhibition is the largest monographic exhibition ever held on Paris Bordone, 16th century Venetian artist and pupil of Titian.

The variety and richness of his work is shown through his sensual portraits, mythological representations, sacred scenes of large altarpieces and small works intended for private devotion. Beginning from the first "natural" portraits influenced by Titian, to those marked by a sophisticated mannerism which were born in an international climate, works from major museums around the world will be on view.

On display for the first time after it's restoration will be the monumental altarpiece with St. George and the Dragon, from the Vatican Museums.

The exhibition runs from 1/26/22 - 6/26/22 at Santa Caterina Museum, Treviso, 31100 Italy.
