Studying biology in college taught her the amazing power of living systems, and gardening has shown her what a struggle that can be, and both of those infuse her with awe at the beauty and tenacity of plants. \u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EHer artistic aesthetic has been shaped by studies in Art History, where she has been influenced by Michelangelo\u0027s clarity of composition and communication, and the great illusions of light painted by Johannes Vermeer, and the detailed realism of William Michael Harnett.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EThe flowers in her paintings all come from her gardens, or a local orchid grower, and are infused with the crystalline light of her home in Colorado. \u0022Every year I get to participate in the amazing transformation of a plant that survived the winter, into a determined plant reaching for the sun and giving all of its life force to create glorious and spectacular flowers.\u0022 Each painting is composed to highlight the most beautiful qualities of each flower. In its way, each painting is a celebration of that piece of nature.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFor the last few years Jones has been working on a Traveling Museum Exhibition that will travel to several musuems around the United States.\u0026nbsp; You can see the paintings and dates on her website listed above.\u0026nbsp; The title of the show is Cultivating the Dutch Tradition in the 21st Century, a collection of paintings that comment on the Climate Crisis.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EHer work has been featured in museum and gallery shows, including the Naples Art Museum, The R. W.
