Tina Figarelli

United States

Tina Figarelli is a realistic figurative artist residing in Chicago, IL. Tina is inspired by classical artists such as William Bouguereau, Jules Bastien-Lepage, and Cecilia Beaux after learning about them in an important time in her life. She frequently seeks inspiration from these artists by visiting the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as studying from her collection of books. The paintings and drawings all contain aspects of her own life; self-portraits, portraits of loved ones, and objects that bring along special thoughts and values. Using soft colors and muted tones, Tina strives to create an aura of silence; a quiet recollection of her life.

Some of her favorite topics to cover in her artwork are ideas with a strong narrative. Tina leaves the viewer hints about the story in the piece using compositional elements as well as color and light, encouraging the viewer to create their own answers to the questions the work of art presents.
