Shannon Fody

Shannon Fody is a contemporary realist working out of Royal Oak, Michigan. She received her BFA from the Laguna College of Art & Design in Southern California in 2017. Shannon continued to live and work in California before eventually moving back to Michigan in 2019. She now paints out of her home studio in Royal Oak, and works as a professional picture framer. Shannon uses expressive and abstract mark-making in order to achieve a highly rendered, representational image. Her work focuses mainly on the portrait and figure, and also touches on the nostalgia of growing up in the suburbs of the Midwest.
