Rita Spalding's paintings have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in many galleries and museums, including The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, The Bonna Thompson Museum in Indianapolis, The Marie Tak van Poortvliet Museum in Domburg, The Netherlands, The Peter van Berkel Gallérie in Middleberg, The Netherlands, Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado, and many others.  She was the Artist in Residence at the world-renowned Children’s Museum of Indianapolis in 2019 and 2020. 

In addition, her work has been collected by public and corporate collections (The Allen Whitehill Clowes Foundation; the Indianapolis Library Foundation; Franklin College; Park 100 Foods;and others).  Ms Spalding is the recipient of several local, regional, and national honors from prestigious associations, such as the Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, the Indiana Heritage Arts, and the Hoosier Salon.  She is the first artist to be awarded Peoples Choice for two consecutive years in the Hoosier Salon's 97 year history. 

Ms Spalding was invited to participate in an international Artists Residency in Domberg, The Netherlands for three consecutive years (2010, 2011, and 2012). 

Rita Spalding was born in Beech Grove, Indiana, in 1964   She currently lives in the historic Irvington neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana.
