Patricia Schappler is an award winning, nationally exhibiting, East Coast artist, with a focus on the human figure. She is an active member of several societies including the Portrait and Pastel Societies of America, Women's Caucus for the Arts, Poets & Artists, and local art groups including the New Hampshire, Lowell, Cambridge, and Newburyport Art Associations. A long time adjunct BFA Faculty, she has taught Figure Drawing and Painting at several local colleges and paints in her home studio.  The recipient of over 60 drawing and painting awards including the IBPC, the Bill Creevy for pastel innovation, the Joan Dunfey, and Lassonde awards, Schappler's images may be found in Studio Visit, INDA, INPA, Hashtag Magazine, Aryis, the Cafe Review, the Pastel Journal, Strokes of Genius, and the New Hampshire Magazine. As one of eleven siblings, Schappler is inspired by extended family, her four children, and her community. Originating from her interest in the narrative of home, she frequently uses fairytale, myth, and biblical story to enter a picture plane. Her work may be found in collections within the U.S., India, China, and Ireland.
