May Zheng

May Zheng is a science fiction- fantasy and portrait painter. Having studied with world-renowned illustrator and portrait artist Kevin Murphy at the Art Academy in Hillsborough, NJ, since age 12, she became his apprentice in 2020 at age 16 and is still studying in this role. May strives to immortalize subjects of reality and imagination through her art, and had her first book cover published in October 2021. In between painting, May is a sophomore at Rutgers University in New Jersey and studies cognitive science with a concentration in visual perception. She plans on being a full-time professional illustrator and portrait artist after graduating.
