Max Lemaire is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Kaua'i, Hawai'i.
Originally from New Hampshire, Max began drawing at a young age and took every art class he could.
He studied painting, drawing, print-making and sculpture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
His early work explored the surreal and abstract worlds that only exist in paint.
While living in New Zealand, he taught himself furniture making and fine woodwork.
In his 30's after living in Kauai and being entranced with the expansive landscapes, Max began working in realism to capture the majesty and the subtle qualities of light on the Na Pali coast and north shore of Kauai.
In 2015, Max opened a gallery on the North Shore of Kauai showcasing his paintings. He uses his woodworking skills to make unique custom frames for each piece.
