As a young artist Liz admired the work of Sargent and the Impressionists and was decidedly inspired to pursue painting after seeing a traveling Hermitage Museum exhibit. She started her career as a pastel portrait artist at Six Flags in Houston when whe was fifteen and continued her art education with a BFA, post graduate work and private study. Inspired by the beauty, joy and peace that comes from connecting the spiritual and natural worlds, her studio and plein air paintings explore these relationships of the American West and beyond by utilizing a blend of classical training techniques and contemporary use of color. She is a signature member of NOAPS, WAOW and OPS. She also holds memberships in OPA, AIS, AWA, APA and PAPNM.
