Lisa Rickard

United States

Lisa Rickard’s artwork can best be described as Imaginative Realism with her muses carefully choreographed to represent universal themes shared by humanity. Her nude figures allegorically represent abstract ideas. The conceptual process begins with graphite drawings prior to painting the dancing light she sees flowing over human form. Rickard’s work honors the nude model ultimately communicating thought-provoking images of the infinitely complex and mysteriously beautiful human psychological characteristics, feelings and behavioral patterns within.

She attended Temple University’s Tyler School of Art receiving her BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. She was personally invited by Dr. Samuel Peralta (www.lunarcodex.com) to participate in the 2022 Painting the Figure Now Exhibition at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art in Wisconsin. Her work was included in the 2022 Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art Salon Des Refuses, the 2021 International’s Guild of Realism Spring Salon, and can be seen online at Art Fluent in both the ‘Femme’ and ‘Lumiere’ exhibits as well as the San Fernando Valley Arts & Culture Center ‘Models in Motion’ exhibit as a first place recipient. Lisa’s figurative work has been awarded as Finalist in the 14th & 15th International ARC Salon (2019 & 2021), Artist Magazine (Jan/Feb 2021), International Artist Magazine (April/May 2021), and The Best of Drawing (special issue Nov 2021) presented by Artist Magazine and American Artist.
