Lali garcia is a self taught peruvian painter, born in 1978Her painting takes place in an imaginative context, making use of different symbols that allude to the unconscious of her characters and the constant struggle between their deepest longings and the repression of the world around them and their own fallible nature. Thus we see scenes where feelings of opposite qualities are found; hope, courage, faith, represented in ethereal, surreal atmospheres with an abstract hint. Hopelessness, nostalgia and loss in the description of its characters, their attributes and expressions, with a realistic stroke and detailed precision.A question inherent to every human being. A constant bid to preserve the essence, within a system created to sabotage individuality. Her work has been selected for INTERNATIONAL BIENNAL PORTRAIT COMPETITION 2021, ICONIC 2021, PAINTING THE FIGURE NOW 2020. Her paintings “Rain” and “Within” are part of the THE LUNAR CODEX / ARTISTS ON THE MOON [AOTM] project. She has available work through 33 contemporary Gallery, and exhibiting internationally.
