There was always a creative longing in Kim. From her earliest days she was searching for her creative purpose until twelve years ago when she picked up a paintbrush and knew that the search was over; she had found what she was made to do.
Her technique combines her love of painting in oils with the need to convey classic themes in a modern context. Using unconventional models, she does not idealize beauty but represents it from the soul outwards.
Kim’s art reflects the inner life. Connecting emotion with form, the viewer is invited to look deeper within the painting, and indeed within themselves. Drawn deeper into the image and the underlying message portrayed, audiences see that Kim’s paintings evoke a radiant joy, self-examination, a depth of soul, and a challenge to contemplate the enduring story of humanity’s longing for hope.
