Pacific Northwest artist Erin Schulz began studying art at an early age in Yakima WA. Ironically, she was first exposed to the classical approach to painting and atelier style education at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chongqing China (‘88-‘89) where she had private instruction in portraiture. She furthered her studies at the Gage Academy in Seattle, Grand Central Academy in New York, and Florence Academy of Art in Italy. She has since settled on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound where she continues to apply traditional techniques to modern narratives that explore the intersection of people and nature.
