My name is Ellen Bibler -Milinich and I Live in Visalia , California. I grew up in Monterey California where my father taught Art at the local community college and created "Little Man on Campus" cartoons.
I am a late bloomer in my art career. Although I would periodically draw portraits, it was until my children were grown did I have an "a-ha" moment and realize my talent was god given ,and it was my purpose to pursue, develop, and strengthen this talent. Strangely,it was spiritually fulfilling and has taken me on an exciting path of self discovery. It has developed into a sustaining passion.
Most of my artistic skills I attribute to being inheritly created at birth. in addition, I spent my childhood surrounded by art books and magazines, paint brushes, the smell of turpentine, and creative people.I have discovered my primary favorite media to be charcoal, my secondary pastels.
My skills have matured and evolved into my own style. I do many commissioned portraits and have many awards and magazine and book publications. When I deliver a commissioned portrait and it brings tears to their eyes it makes me happy because I know they too, have been spiritually moved. Through the use of interesting light, composition, and expression,my goal is to capture the sitters spiritual essence with my use of charcoal on paper.
