Dana Hawk is an oil painter specializing in animal and figurative work. She attended Missouri State University initially as an art student but switched to Cell and Molecular Biology, going on to receive a M.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado. She returned to art in 2003 and has been a recurring finalist in the Portrait Society of America Members Only Competition, received an Honorable Mention in ARC’s 15th International Salon Competition and again in the 16th International ARC Salon Competition with this painting of “Clingy Things of Where We’ve Been,” she was included in Salmagundi Club’s 40th Annual Open Exhibition, along with multiple group shows at Collins Galleries, RJD Gallery, Abend Gallery, Rehs Contemporary Gallery, and has had works published in Fine Art Connoisseur and American Art Collector magazines.
