Brenda was born in California, grew up in Oklahoma City and now resides with her family in Dardanelle, Arkansas. It's the perfect locale to find inspiration for her oil paintings as she is surrounded by nature's beauty.
Horses have always been her first love when it comes to drawing and painting. She was told that as a child she would draw on any surface she could find. Her first memory of drawing was of a horse, of course!
Brenda's art education consists of high school art and sculpture classes, where as a member of the Art Honor Society, her love of oil painting began. She is largely self-taught.
She made her living as a draftsman and later as a U.S.D.A.poultry inspector and farmer. She finally began her journey as a full time fine artist in the fall of 2008. Since then she has had several solo shows, attended workshops by prominent artists, been juried into countless fine art shows across the country, garnered many awards and judged a nationally acclaimed small works show.
She also paints in miniature (1/6th actual size) and has many collectors across the country.
Brenda is a member of ten nationally acclaimed art societies such as NOAPS, OPA, IGOR, WAOW, AWA and more.
