Anatoly Popov

Georgia

Anatoly Popov was born in 1990. He was raised in Novorossiysk, Russia, but moved a lot within the country in the pursuit of artistic excellence. In order to build a strong educational foundation, he studied at Pensa Art College n.a. Savitsky, one of the oldest and most renowned in Russia, and afterwards he sought further professional development in Moscow, receiving a BA in Sculpture from The Russian Academy of fine arts of Ilya Glazunov in 2017. Since then he has become an independent sculptor.

Deep adherence to harmony and feeling of aesthetics, nurtured in the course of his whole artistic life, are the major force driving the artist’s creativity. Legendary heroes from Greek mythology serve as a particular object of inspiration for him, as they represent the ideal of physical and spiritual perfection.

In the artistic world actively searching for new forms, plots and emotions, such images remain the incorporation of eternal human values, not subject to transient fashion and tastes.
