Born 1951 in Fontana, California, Jim McVicker has been a full-time artist since 1975. He has had more than 40 one person and group shows over the past 45 years including shows at the Irvine Museum of Art, Morris Graves Museum of Art Eureka, Shasta College Art Gallery, Spanierman Gallery, New York City, Humboldt State University, George Stern Gallery, West Hollywood, California, Gumps Gallery San Francisco, CA, Hackett Freedman Gallery San Francisco, CA and John Pence Gallery, San Francisco, CA. He works with a number of galleries in California, Oregon, Utah, Florida and Connecticut, a few of which include: Huse Skelly Gallery, Balboa, Fairmont Gallery, Sonoma, Mission Gallery, St George, Utah, and J.M. Stringer Gallery, Vero Beach, Florida. He has numerous works in public collections and on public view in venues such as: the Irvine Museum of Art, Morris Graves Museum of Art, Hiram Johnson State Office Building, San Francisco, CA, the Beverly Hills Hotel, Ritz Carlton, Pasadena, CA., Exxon Corporation, Irving TX, Nagaragawa, Ramada Hotel, Gifu Japan, State of Wyoming, Douglas, WY, The Sutter Club, Sacramento, CA, and the Laguna Honda Hospital, San Francisco.
