Pavel Sokov

I paint traditional cultures as I am fascinated by the narratives, textures, traditions and people I encounter throughout my world travels, which birthed my series "Stories of the World".

I am also spearheading a project which celebrates the heroes of science allong with their accomplishments. I pay my respects to these scientific heroes via traditional portraiture. So far six famous historical figures have already been memorialized: Albert Einstein, Marie-Curie, Charles Darwin, George Washington Carver, Jonas Salk, and Buzz Aldrin.

I am also known for my commissioned portraiture in which I bring to canvas the stories and histories of various accomplished families, from entrepeneurs, celebrities, and royal families. I have also painted a Time Magazine person of the year cover in 2014.
