Mary McGovern is a professional artist living in Central Texas, specializing in realist style drawings and oil paintings. She has enjoyed drawing since she was a little kid, and still spends all of her free time painting and drawing or twisting wire to make fine jewelry.
Artist's Statement:
My goal is to show people things they never would see on their own, by using my artistic skills to collect and highlight beautiful, interesting things. I especially love finding small, ephemeral things to honor, like tiny flower buds that only exist for a few hours. When it comes to my materials, I focus on making high-quality pieces that will stay beautiful as long as possible. All of my drawing and painting materials are as archival as they can be, because I want my artwork to survive.
