I'm a self taught artist based in Liverpool, England with a desire to emulate the technical practices and procedures of the Great Master painters.
I'm fascinated by the individual characteristics that traditional materials pose and also the unique and beautiful qualities when combined.
I prepare my own traditional supports and purify and sun thicken my own flax seed oil to use with my oils. I combine this oil with mixtures of chalk, egg, casein, or animal glue to achieve specific pictorial effects.
I believe a great painting is only as good as the foundations on which it's been constructed and the skills of construction take a lifetime to master.
