Megan Read

Megan Elizabeth Read (b. 1982) is an American figurative artist living and working in Charlottesville, Virginia. Though largely self-taught she began drawing at a young age and was introduced to oil painting quite early as well. Over the past years, her focus has shifted sharply from drawing to painting and she now works almost exclusively in oil with pieces ranging from small still life to large scale paintings focusing on the female form. Mae has exhibited nationally including multiple solo shows in her region and most recently has been included in “Painting Today/Pintando Hoy” in celebration of International Women's Day at the Museum of Modern Art MEAM in Barcelona, Spain (2019). Her work is held in a number of private collections and has been selected for several issues of PoetsArtists of which she is a member. www.maeread.com
