ELLEN BUSELLI – BIO--ARC
Painter Ellen Buselli studied at the Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy, Cornell University (BFA), and the Art Students League of New York. She paints from a north light studio in an old 1890’s brownstone in NYC which mirrors her love of the last-turn-of-the-century art practices and painters such as Emil Carlsen and Henri Fantin-Latour. Her subject matter includes figure, portrait, still-life, flowers, and landscape.
Her award winning paintings have been juried into many of the Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibitions earning Best Still Life Award, Winsor & Newton Award of Excellence, and the Richeson Silver Brush Award.
In addition, her work has been selected for the Art Renewal Center Salon and Traveling Exhibition 2018-2019 and won the 2018 ARC Staff Award. Her work was also included in the ARC 2017 Salon.
Other honors include Finalist in the Portrait Society of America’s Member Competition 2018 ( Still Life Category), International Artists Magazine’s Floral and Garden Award 2019, and Favorite Things Challenge 2018, Butler Museum of American Art Juried Exhibition 2017, the FASO BoldBrush Award Winner 2016, Salmagundi Club Awards, and the National Academy of Design/Art Juried Bi-Annual Exhibition.
Buselli’s work has been on the Cover of American Artist and The Artist’s Magazine, and has had feature articles in American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, International Artist Magazine, and American Art Collector.
She is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and a Master Signature Member of American Women Artists. Buselli is also a member of the Salmagundi Club, Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, Portrait Society of America, and a lifetime member of the Art Students League.
