Frøydis Aarseth

Norway

Frøydis Aarseth was born in Norway in 1986. She knew from an early age what she wanted in life.

In 2006, she moved to Florence in Italy to study full time at The Florence Academy of Art. After graduating from the academy in 2009, Aarseth continued her studies in Paris, France under the direction of the figurative master Odd Nerdrum.

Aarseth grew up in a small village next to the Førde fjord in Norway. This had a big impact on her choice of themes, and she painted tall mountains, steep fjords and figures in the cold Norwegian winter. Today Aarseth is more impacted by the modern world. Like the environmental issues of plastic and the new world where we live more and more through our cell phones

Aarseth has had several exhibitions and group shows in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Italy and New York USA. Her work has been published in different brochures and magazines. She has also been presented as a young and promising talent in Scandinavia’s largest art magazine, KUNST.

Today Aarseth lives in Norway working as a full-time artist and runs her own school of figurative art in Bergen, Norway, Frøydis Aarseths Malerskole.
