I have quietly followed a path of exploration in the confines of my studio for the past 12 years, never sharing studies or the work publicly. I've come to the conclusion that many of the art forms have similar attributes. Based mostly on this conclusion my goal is to try to find harmony between representational and abstract worlds using many of the visual elements such as shape, value, color and etc. I consider myself an artist that initiates dialog, keeping my paintings open ended allowing those that experience the work to draw their own conclusions. This makes the interaction with the work their own intimate experience. This particular painting is a part of a series called "Faces Of Eve". This series draws inspiration from the story of Adam and Eve from the Bible, specifically from Eve's viewpoint. I didn't want to approach the series as many have in the past with references to the garden, serpent, and fruit -- blaming Eve for the woes of man. Instead, I chose to focus on how her plight correlates with things that are happening today -- love, hate, relationships, empowerment and abandonment, just to name a few.
