Arcus is the portrait of an artist lost in the landscape of his own mind.  A sober sea and sky set the contemplative mood of the piece.  Jamaal Clarke gazes out onto the horizon deep in unknowable thoughts.    Painted entirely from life, this picture is a contemporary play on old portrait practices.
